Sounds sketchy. Legal title to property is not handed over to another on a "temporary basis," unless to hide assets or for other obstructive purposes. A deed is the document that transfers ownership of real estate. It contains the names of the old and new owners and a legal description of the property and is signed by the person transferring the property. You transferred ownership where that person now holds legal title. Contact a local real estate attorney.

if you do not have a witness to the temporary status and this was not done thru a lawyer with a written agreement you are s o l... the house belongs to the other person legally... they have the deed and it is in their name... you can't get it back... no court will give it to you... if you have credible witnesses or a written agreement with the person signed and notarized then you can sue...

sounds sticky. take it to a real estate attorney...ask for an hour of their time. Ask "all" the questions you have when you get there without hesitation. It will be well worth your while.
