Paper weight and thickness are two different things. Mostly paper is measured in GSM which stands for ‘Grams per Square Metre’, it tells you how much a square metre of the paper or card you’re using would weigh. The thickness of the paper can differ from the weight by the way it is produced and finished (same weight but thicker coz it wasn't rolled or had chemicals added etc) A standard weight for the inside pages of a magaazine is 90GSM

Take a stack of 100 or 500 papers based on your convinience and measurement accuracy. Then based on your requirement on accuracy you can either use a normal ruler or a vernier caliper to measure the width of the stack. Then divide the total width by the number of paper in the stack. You will arrive at the thickness of the paper. Note: The more paper you take in the stack, the better would be the accuracy.

Based on the scale which you used, you can directly get the answer in centimeter or if you got the answer in something else, such as inches, then you got to convert it to centimeters. 1in = 2.54 cm.

Either find a conversion factor from gsm to cm, or try a simple trick. Measure say 100 sheets of the paper, or 1000 sheets of the paper in cm. Then, divide by 100 or 1000, respectively to get the answer for one sheet in units of centimeters.

125gsm (grams per square meter) isn't a measurement of thickness but of weight. If the paper is made up of a more dense material then it could be of the same thickness but of a different weight.
