i am referring to stainless steel overhead water tanks. the floor area of the building is 1300 sq.m.

The size of the tank or tanks depends of how many people are using water, in reference to stainless steel it will cost you a fortune, fiberglass will serve the same purpose at a fraction of what it cost the stainless, we've been using fiberglass now for twelve years without a problem and we use 4 tanks 1,100 gal each..☺

First, you need to know what types of fixtures will be used, and the quantity. Generally, an engineer calculates how much capacity is required, and it is Incorporated in the design plans. Buildings with a fire suppression system need a larger capacity tank, than a building that doesn't have this feature. Second, stainless steel tanks might be too expensive. Steel coated tanks can do the same job, at a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps.
