Because Arizona & Hawaii are the only states that have figured out how stupid daylight savings time is. The entire country should do away with daylight savings time.
Why SHOULD it snow in Mesa?
You can't hear God because he has nothing to say to you!
Mesa is a Spanish word which means flat-topped mountain or a table.

1. why doesn't AZ observe daylight savings time? Because they're smart and see no reason for it...that was something I enjoyed when I lived there
2. Why doesn't it snow in Mesa? It does on rare occasion (flurry) but typically the desert doesn't see much snow. That's why it's the desert.
3. Why is it hot in certain places? Geography.
4. Yada yada god yada yada? It's all mythology anyway
5. Mesa got its name perhaps because it IS a mesa or is near a mesa...I don't know for sure...I spent most of my time on the other side of the valley (Glendale to Buckeye)

It is a federal law that all states observe Daylight Saving Time, but states may choose not to. It is very sunny and hot in Arizona so the state simply doesnt need or want an extra hour of sun. Hawaii is also a state that doesnt observe Daylight Saving Time.

Having the sun set as early as possible in the summer is actually a desired condition in such a hot climate. When the sun finally goes down is when it's really nice to be outside, thus making evening recreational activities really enjoyable.
I wish Michigan didn't observe daylight savings time, as we're so far west in the eastern time zone that nightfall isn't until 10 pm in the summer. I agree with others that DST is a stupid idea.
