You are using Internet Explorer as your Web browser and have receingly switched to version 7, right?

The padlock icon hasn't disappeared - it just has been moved elsewhere. When you're accessing non-secure Web pages, instead of having an open padlock in the lower right corner of the browser, now there is no padlock at all. When you're accessing secure Web pages, the icon of a closed padlock appears to the right of the address area of the browser (i.e., the field where you enter the URL), at the top of the browser.
