My definition of "rich" is being without want for anything that brings TRUE happiness and contentment. A mansion, a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, a bank account with a telephone-number balance does not make anyone truly rich, for it is quite possible to have all these things and be very unhappy. The only things that make a man truly rich are the love of a good woman and a close family, the peace of mind that comes from knowing that one has done the right thing at all times as far as one was/is able, and the possession of good health. Everything else is icing; those three things are the cake.

Having a handful of very good friends and a supportive family.
But really rich is buy 17 Rolex watches and just handing over the credit card with no questions asked.

You are rich when the state can no longer control you and decide what you should do with your life.
There are two types of people in this country - the poor, controlled by the state, and the rich, who control the state.
There is another definition of rich I once heard which I liked...

Rich is a state mind that keeps the brain busy comparing who has what..... for the rest of starving humans its due to the greed of others who take too much of what should be shared. Animals in their natural habitat still eat, drink and reproduce without all the material things created by man...

The word rich is not only linked with money, It has a broader meaning, to get saturated of any thing.
It depends upon your needs, capacities, capabilities and a situations within and around you.
If your stomach is 2 litters you have food 1.5 litters you are poor. If your stomach is 1 litter and you have 1.1 litter of food, you are rich in food.
By avoiding unnecessary requirements and wishes we can reduce our needs, so even less will be more for us. But basic requirements must not be compromised.
So we may define the term, rich, "someone having sufficient amount of wealth, qualities, quantities and capabilities with reference to his reasonable capacities/necessities of basic nature".

My definition of rich is to be able to pay your bills and take care of yourself and or family.I would be just as happy doing that then if i had a million dollars in the bank and a huge house that doesn't feel like a home.I don't need flashy cars just one i can depend on to run and get me and my kids from point A to point B without breaking down in between.I believe your family and the love and support they give you makes you richer than anyone on Bill Gates or Donald Trumps A list.

Rich and poor are simply comparisons of a standard level of living. You can look at this from a small situation like in a single town, or look at it nationally, or even compare nations based upon their respective standard level of living. To be rich simply means that you can afford to not only live at that standard level, but more. Being poor means you can't afford to sustain that level of living.

Having what you need for you and your family, a home to be comfortable in and maybe some extra cash for fun. . Good health, family and friends. Pets that are like family...and finally enough to give to those who have not. That is the most important of all
p.s. you can have all the money in the world...but your not rich.

Enough money to never have to worry about money. To be able to buy whatever you want, never have to work a day in your life.
Of course you can also be spiritually rich (happy, emotionally fulfilled, self-actualized etc). You might mean rich foods (as in a really rich chocolate cake). But when I hear the word, I think of money (either that or one of my ex-boyfriends who was Rich in name only. A sweet guy though penniless...He taught me to play guitar so I'll always be grateful for that).
