I know exactly what you mean. I'm 24 and I still get that way sometimes...it's just part of life. You just need to find something that grabs your attention and makes you feel confident and satisfied. Part of the reason is your parents. It will pass as you get older. My parents are very strict as well...I was 22 and had an 11pm curfew (ridiculous right??) But you'll see that things change as you get older, your parents will chill out a bit. And if they don't, then get a great scholarship to an out of state college. You'll then be able to really find yourself and be happy. Just whatever you do. Do not rely on pills. They seem great and all, but they don't really help solve the problem. Good luck with everything, you'll be fine. Just hang in there. :-)

I think that's for you don't know who you are, don't know what you want to be in the future, and there is nothing that you want to "fight" for it. you are not very confident.
even though it's night if you open your eyes, you still can find starts, but if you close your eyes, you won't see the sun even at daytime.
other persons don't always be in a good mood when they seem happy, one person be in depressed mood still can sing! but the sing and smile can help a person stand up from depressed mood.
maybe your parents are just an excause, just a little problem of all. your parents are just like a door, your 'boring life" is just like a room with closed windows.
although you have found that you don't want to the one with a depressed mood, why don't you try to open the 'door' and step out the room and into sunshine?
don't be worried, just step by step slowly.
Prescription: to eat a block of candy everymorning to tell yourself that today is sweet again; look into the mirror verytime before going out to face the true of yourself.

Well it's not that there is anything in particular wrong with you... you see a lot of people go through these "stages of life" <- i myself had the same situation when i was 15-16. Those times will pass as soon as you find yourself, You feel sad because you can't seem to exactly pinpoint who you are, what you want to do, what YOU like NOT your friends. You have no interest in things you used to do, because you never really enjoyed them, look for something new to try. As far as your parents concerned, it is time you start (SLOWLY BUT SURELY) standing up to your parents, TOO MUCH SHELTERING IS BAD!!! But don't forget that they are YOUR PARENTS and they WILL worry about EVERYTHING, especially if you are the only or the first child. If your life seems boring, don't worry, that will change when you find yourself and get to talk to people that find the same things FUN as you :) YOU WILL BE A HAPPIER PERSON soon enough, just need to wait and realize that you are your own person. YOU MUST LEARN TO RESPECT YOURSELF, you must realize that you are not just another person, YOU ARE YOU, one of a kind! Find or do things to be proud of yourself, don't do things just to impress others, what others think DOES NOT MATTER, as long as it makes you happy.
As far as being SHY concerned, it could be a good quality ;) but as you find yourself you will lose some of that shyness, you will feel confident in more things you do...
YOU ARE NOT DEPRESSED, YOU SIMPLY NEED TO REALIZE THAT THE WORLD IS YOURS IF YOU SIMPLY LEARN TO SEE WHAT YOU WANT AND DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO GET IT. If you can do that, there is NOTHING in this world that can get you down again.

At 16 it would be hard to tell if you are clinically depressed or just going through the hormonal upheaval that is puberty. If you are really worried about your mental state, you could have yourself evaluated by a professional.

Im going through the same thing and I am 17 year old male, everything you say is the same for me except about the parent and freedom thing. Maybe you are still going through puberty, you get depressed and in bad moods when you go through puberty. Don't worry, you'll get over it, I am.

You sound clinically depressed. You are probably bipolar.
Treat it now before you get paranoid or hear voices.
Most of all, don't worry about it. Depression is a fact of life for many people. And it is cured easily with a little paxil, lithium, depakote or that other one these prescribe alot that doesn;t have sexual side effects.
There are different types of people in this world -- accountants and artists. You are an artist.
You have many gifts you have yet to discover. Treat your depression now and you will live a much better life.

You sound like you might be depressed and may even be resorting to anger to help cover up feelings. I would strongly suggest you find some way to get in touch with a licensed psychologists or a psychiatrist who could help diagnose you and perhaps suggest some methods of behavior modification. You are important and your life is valuable. Don't waste more than you have to by avoiding something as simple as getting help. Good luck to you!

Talk to your parents about this, or if you don't feel comfortable with them, talk to a school counselor. I know that may seem stupid, but they know what's best and they will be able to help you! Just tell them your feelings, and you will be able to get help.
You sound depressed, and you need to talk to someone about it and discuss your feelings and perhaps take medication to help you feel better about yourself.
- Good luck!
