Our poodle came and took the banana peal and ate about half of it. I offered him the banana but no he wanted the peal. Is there something he needs that he is not getting.

No. Lots of animals eat the peel. Watch a gorilla. They will eat the entire banana. The peel obviously tastes different than the actual banana, so maybe he just prefers that flavor over the banana. Or maybe he is a courteous dog and knew you preferred the banana and wanted you to have it... =-)

Yes and the answer is...banana peel. I wouldn't spend too much time trying to figure out what is going through your poodles mind.

there is a certain smell on the peel and some animals are likly to take the peel instead adn most dogs do NOT like fruit.....

maybe he just likes it more than the banana itself i know my dog likes both.

i think bananas have potasium. maybe get a better dog food

with vitamins & minerals.
