I am going to be taking an international trip that involves 11 hours of flight with a layover of four hours. I am counting on my 30GB iPod to keep me entertained with books on tape, videos, etc. What can I do to charge/recharge it midflight when the battery runs out of juice 3 hours into my trip? Do they make/sell portable battery backups for iPods? Any other tips?

They make backups for iPods, and they sell for abour $15 on Amazon. I have the TuneJuice one, which uses 9-volts, and it serves its purpose. The things aren't terribly durable but for one trip it should work fine.

Fully charge the iPod, i mean leave it in the charger for at least 5 hours. Anyways, they make little handheld systems for the iPod. They are portable, rechargeable battery packs.

You can buy/find a high capability rechargeable battery which has the same voltage as your iPod for backup. Of course you might prepare a home-made cable.
