I've been accepted by Publish America but I heard they weren't that good

It is exceedingly unlikely that your book will be stocked by many bookstores if it is published by either Lulu or PublishAmerica. IF you can create very strong demand for your book, you MIGHT overcome those barriers, but if you can do that, you should consider the other two publishing options: traditional publishing or self-publishing.

Unless you really love being in business, and are good at marketing, graphic design, layout, and production management, my suggestion would be that you go with a traditional publisher, when your goal is bookstore sales.

I hope that helps.

No. With the exception of maybe IUniverse, none of the bookstores I KNOW will carry any self-published books from any of the vanity press publishers--including Publish America.

You probably could but even if it doesn't and it still gets published it will be easier for you to have your books published by bigger publication agencies.

Is there some reason you don't want to find an agent and / or a real publisher?
