If you like Street Fighter 2, you'll love Eternal Champions. It was a much, much better game than SFII.
Altered Beast is another one that I like.
Golden Axe is another classic.
Virtua Fighter 2
Phantasy Star II, III, and IV
You could just get the Sega Genesis Collection for the PS2 or PSP.

Gunstar Heroes is one of the best games on Genesis. It is an awesome action/shooter. And its big fun with 2 players.
Toejam and Earl is another fun game. It's more slow paced, but its really fun.

Any Sonic the Hedgehog game is great. Those games were really fun
