I mean, it started in the 80s with MC Hammer. Vanilla Ice was awesome and he never cussed. Nowadays the only rapper that doesn't suss is Will Smith. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of rap I like. But I just can't wonder what rap will be later on. I don't want my kids to grow up hearing cussing. movies are starting to become like that too. What's your opinion? You miss Vanilla Ice style?

i hate the raps that every other word is a curse. Rap use to be poetic. The cussing made sense if it was there, but it wasn't through the whole song. Nas is right Hip hop is dead. Songs don't make sense anymore. It doesn't speak to life or fun. Just hos shaking thier *** and material possessions. It's throw away stuff. songs you won't remember a year from now.

i see what you saying rap now days is living off the image of cussing, hoes and all that fake sh*t. old school rap is the best, some new school is ok, but still. alot of new rappers thinks that cussing makes the rap, so they end up cussing half the song and the rest talking about hoes. n.w.a pac and big were raw, they used cussing to help portray what they were trying to show and keep it real. most of todays rappers aint trying to show anything but hoes in the first place

Yes, I really miss it. In the late 80's early 90's my mom used to let me listen to whatever rap song I wanted to because they were pretty clean. Now it's n**** this and f*** that. Women weren't put down in the lyrics back then either. We were referred to as lady, woman, or girl. Now it's h** this and b**** that. My best friend always has the turn the station at every other song when her daughter is in the car.

some of our favorite rap artists today are capable of making songs without cursing, they just don't. people like to hear potty talk and bad words these days. I've even heard Jay-Z, TI, Ludacris, Trick Daddy (some of the most foul-mouthed) rappers spit verses without cursing or sexual references, even Lil Wayne. But the one who professes that he refrains from cursing and using the word n i g g a right now is Chamillionaire, he tries to keep it clean.

im sorry but vanilla ice sucks! big time 2 pac cussed, but that is because he wasnt afraid to express his true feelings... cussing is just a way for him to show his emotions and anger at the world

You are so right, kids wouldn't think that what we listened to was considered rap anymore cuz there isn't any cursing.. What is wrong with society?
