How do I get tickets to any of the Austin City Limits Shows?

Call the KLRU Hotline at (512) 475-9077. The recorded message will detail the artist, taping date, time and which radio station(s) to listen to for the ticket distribution announcement. One or two working days before the taping the station will make the announcement stating the location of the ticket giveaway. When you hear the announcement, go immediately to the location of the distribution to pick up a pair. Tickets go *very quickly*, sometimes within five minutes of the announced giveaway time.

The free tickets are distributed by KLRU staff on a first-come, first-served basis. Two tickets per person are allowed. A ticket does NOT guarantee admission to a taping. KLRU will admit as many ticket holders as our capacity limit allows. That limit is set by the State Fire Marshal and is strictly enforced. In order to be assured of a full house for the taping, KLRU distributes tickets in excess of our capacity to account for "no-shows."

If you are in Austin for a visit you are welcome to follow the ticket process detailed here. Unfortunately, KLRU cannot accommodate special out-of town ticket requests. However, another way to get the Austin City Limits experience is to attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival, the dates of which are posted a year in advance.

While the new lineup has not been officially set, I can assure you that Wilco, Bloc Party, 1 of Bob Marley's sons or grandsons, Lucinda Williams, Spoon, Blue October, Ben Kweller, Kaiser Chiefs, 1 old country guy, 1 old blues guy, and only 1 (if any) hip hop group will be there. The knock on ACL is that they continue to bring back the same artists every festival, and these same artists already come to Austin for separate shows at different venues throughout the year. Don't get me wrong - I like ACL and have enjoyed going; however, I just hate to see it getting so routine and predictable. Maybe they will prove me wrong this summer.........Good luck!
