They changed from "Negroes" to "Colored People" to "Blacks"and now most popularly to "African-Americans". But all this time NAACP carried the phrase: "Colored People". I think they should change it to "African-N-Asian-Americans" to create racial harmony. Then NAACP becomes NAAANAA. And Sen. Oboma becomes part of it too along with all the Asian-Americans. What do you think?

It's kinda sad that we still need an organization like that in this day and age. If you must know, "Colored" should be changed to "Minority", thus NAAMP. Either way it's stupid. I can't stand it when "they" show up everytime a black person cries "racism" or "discrimination". It's embarrassing really. And by the way, any educated black person would rather be called Black than African-American anyway. That's a term the super-sensitive ACLU came up with to keep from offending people. Anytime someone refers to me as A/A it seems like they're going out of their way to sound sensitive or tolerant of us. I'm American. Period. Race? Black. It's obvious that Black people come from Africa but most don't know from which country. Black American is just fine with me. But that's not what you asked. Sorry. I get all wriled up sometimes.

Always wondered that myself. The NAACP stands for the national advancement of colored people. Yet, all their leaders are black and they are only heard from when something happens to blacks. The word colored is also a little outdated, why not change it to black or African-American? Colored people sounds so 1920s.

Well, the name should be changed, but for a different reason. The NAACP used to have integrity and actually help black people. Today it is corrupt and only hurts black people, imagining problems that don't exist while ignoring the real problems.
