I'm going to be on vacation the first 2 weeks of January, where would be a nice place to go for about 5 days.

Hawaii is a nice place to spend time during winter. hotels are cheaper and there are less crowds in the off season. If you go will you take me too?

Go somewhere warm like florida to an area that is not heavily populated. The keys are nice there are also some small islands around florida that are not as busy.
Unless you can go to Australia. Australia is warm in the winter it is a nice break.

It depends on how much money you want to spend and what type of climate you like. If you are into skiing and snowboarding, Lake Tahoe or Colorado would be good. If you like the warm weather, Florida or LA would be good.
