I ordered 3 phones (a family plan) from Cingular wireless and everyone’s phone worked Ok but mine. After two weeks of calls and emails to rectify the problem I was left with no choice but to cancel my service. I mailed back the phones (at my expense) and was given a refund except for $33. Cingular refuses to refund that balance because I had some use of the phone. I liken this to eating a shrimp dinner that makes you sick and the restaurant still makes you pay for the rice and beans that came with it. I would not have ordered a phone that only worked half the time. They know this because of the constant disconnections I got trying to rectify the problem. I finally resorted to my landline where I was treated with misinformation, incompetence and indifference. Contacting the FCC gets me referred back to Cingular and the cycle continues. Any suggestions or should I just chalk this up to experience and share my story to try to save others from a "Cingular" fate?

I wish I could go back to the past knew about Cingular's horrible service.
In one word--Cingular Wireless has "Terrible" customer service.
They don't have any respect for their customers--all they care for is MONEY.
FOLKS----DON'T GET ANY PHONE, PHONE PLAN FROM CINGULAR WIRELESS. PERIOD. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. I JUST CANCELLED MY SERVICE WITH THEM----I CALLED FOR A TECHNICAL ISSUE--AND THEY KEPT TRANSFERING ME FROM DEPARTMENT TO DEPARMENT AND FINALLY CUT ME OFF THREE TIMES!!!
GUYZ---ONCE AGAIN...DON'T GET CINGULAR WIRELESS.

Cingular having problems? That happens every blue moon, if that. Out of all the phone companies i've had, Cingluar has been the best out of all. Sprint has too much disconnected calls and T-Mobile has bad customer service. I hope everything comes out good for you and your able to refund your money in the long run.

I've been a Cingular wireless customer since 2000. I had some phone problems in the past, and I had excellent service with customer service and tech support when I needed assistance. My phone was not receiving text messages and it was delaying my vmail alerts. The tech dept taught me to turn off the phone, take out the battery, put battery on and turn on the phone. Sometimes you need to turn off/on so the phone can reset itself (just like a computer). I also emailed customer support and they were prompted in responding too. I wish you were able to get quality service like I did when I needed it.

I have been with Cingular Wireless for 10 years as a customer, and have received no problems with their service or support. I think they are a great company. If you cancel your service, you do lose money, it is in the Cingular Agreement.

I shuttle plenty and characteristic 2 phones. One is my personal and the different one is my artwork telephone Cingular/att. Out of both my personal telephone that's Verizon is a lot extra reliable. Which why I have 2 phones because my artwork telephone does not artwork the position I stay.

Ugh. I had a similar experience with Nextel. They told me I was in a wonderful service area and that it wasn't service that was causing all my calls to drop...it was that "too many users were on their towers currecntly in this location". Like that's MY problem. And anyway, the phone clearly said NO SERVICE after these dropped calls, so I know this person was giving me bull. Unfortunately, I did not find a way to get a refund AT ALL from Nextel, or even have the waive the cutoff fee. Thanks for the info, though. Now I know who I WON'T be transferring to.
