Hell yeah!!!! They work up the soap into a rich, rich lather, which prevents you from wasting more soap on a rag that will only let some of the liquid soap go on down the drain if you don't rub the towel together.
Those rags do NOT provide a good lather. However, I do use a rag to get in and behind my my ears (Try doing THAT will a shower poof.)
Oh, and when you buy those really "lathery" soaps... and put some on a poof... oh... my... it's like a soap sud/bubble wonderland!
*I'm gonna get in the tub now for the heck of it. And have good "clean" fun with my shower puff*
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Yes, the soap goes a longer way on the puff than on a washcloth!

Well...I guess you would just use them to get the dirt out of your skin. But don't scrape too hard. It's usually a little rough.

Yes, they hold the soap better and make your skin smooth and soft.
