My ear is sore and havent been able to wear earrings for a while now. I have 2 piercings in both ears. On my left ear, I have what feels like a small lump, and feels as though I can roll it around. It hurts to touch it, its not red or inflammed, and it makes it uncomfotable to wear any earrings. What could it be? Its been there a few weeks. Im allergic to costume jewelery or any kind that is plated so I am careful not to wear anything but real gold or sterling silver, so I know its not infected from that.

well, I used to have a similar problem if I even wore sterling silver for more than a few hours.

now all I wear is solid 14k gold in my ears.

try not wearing any earrings for maybe a week, and try cleaning the area with bactine and a cotton ball maybe 2 times per day and see if that helps.

if it doesn't start to clear up soon, maybe ask your doctor.

What you have is a small cyst in your ear from not letting the earring holes breath. It is sort of blister like and can be caused by staph. Your earring holes should be cleaned every week at least once a week. Put Isopryol Alcohol ( Not Rubbing Alcohol, the non burning kind) on the bump with a cotton ball at lightly apply pressure. You will hear a sort of fizzing sound which means the medicine is working. After that is done, get some bactine gel and apply it to the bump.

Just because your ear is not red or inflammed does not mean that you do not have an infection. The pain is due to the fact that your ear is agitated. If the problem persists contact your family doctor.

See ya

It sounds like a possible cyst...if it feels like a small movable be-be it may be a cyst... a cyst is basically a small cheese like filled sack shaped like a small grape. But if the piercings is new it can be an infection, or even a Keloid...a keloid does not move as much since it is scar build up....
Ask your Dr. to be sure...

OK, this may sound dumb, but I've been told by a hairdresser that if you spray alot of hairspray you get bumps on your ears. It's from build up. I wear alot of hairspray and I do get them. But I don't know your hair habits. I hope that's all it is.
