Our tax money can't possibly be used for this (though I wouldn't be surprised if it was).

You do know what NORAD stands for, right? If they had done their jobs, we probably wouldn't be after Osama bin Laden anymore!

OK, I'm sick of these angry responses. I'm not knocking Santa at all. If you read the whole Hisory page, you'll see that the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) admit that they didn't notice the towers in New York falling until afterwards.
I'm pissed because our security system wasn't paying attention.

I just checked Wikipedia. The site really IS a joke. (Don't let the kids find out)
Sorry for wasting all of your time.

It's not a joke. They really track Santa on Christmas eve. They treat it very sweetly and respectfully.

They had this years ago also. They would make announcements on the TV on Christmas Eve about NORAD tracking Santa's sleigh when I was a kid. I remember being so excited when I heard it.

Lighten up Scrooge!! It's part of Christmas, and the kids love it. I don't understand why this makes anyone sick.

As one of Santa's Elves I can confirm that the NORAD tracking is legit. However prior to 1960 Santa was considered a UFO and at one point was almost shot down.

It's a 100% joke. The matter is, did they track him? Why NORAD has to pay attention to a fictional character?

I guess I don't understand what makes you sick - on Christmas Eve you pull up the website and it shows you where Santa is. It is not affiliated with any military organization, it is a private website that "tracks" Santa for kids on Christmas.

Why would this make you sick? Why would you look at it as an immature joke? Do you not believe Santa Clause? Do you not believe in what he stands for? Do you not think that everyone should still possess the innocent view of children?

No it's not a Joke. NORAD is hosting it. Although the government isn't paying for it

Who the hell would spend that much time making some thing like that up. And creating a whole web site. That was a ridiculous site.
