I would like to make a quilt/robe that looks like the following:

http://home-furnishings.drleonards.com/Home-Furnishings/Bedroom-Basics/Wraparound-Quilt-Check-Pattern/49247.cfm

I know how to quilt, but I have NO idea where to put the snaps for this type of thing. I thought I'd be able to buy something similar to this for my son's girlfriend who is always wandering around our house wrapped in a comforter (it's not cold, I think it's just her lack of any body fat that makes her cold!). But alas, it is three days until Christmas and I haven't found this in any store and it's really too late to order it online--I'd rather spend a dozen hours making it than $50 on shipping! ;)

Any ideas or instructions are appreciated!

trying to figure it out, used a hand towel. and doll. open up, fold both edges towards center to where they just overlap, take top corners, open up top, pull seperatly down to meet in middle , sorta 1/4 the way down. it should make a scoopy kinda shape. fold the collar area backward(top center of towel. you should have something that looks like your pic. there should be two flaps(arms) and the snaps would be one on each top corner holding it to the middle of the towel, one on each side of the towel itself holding it together right there, two below that to hold it closed, and a few more across the bottom to enclose it, you can see (i hope) that you can put another snap closer to the neck (to hold it closed across the chest. hope this helps. i feel like a total idiot this morning :) doing "towel origami " good luck

I have seen them in catalogs and thought them quite interesting. I have been searching and am unable to find a pattern. I would be tempted to buy one and copy it in the future. I realize that is of no help to you now. I will be watching to see if you get any good answers.

P.S. I am still looking. Maybe a quick solution would be to purchase that quilted fabric that is finished on both sides. Our Walmart has some that is quite nice. I would just finish it off with bias tape and maybe get some fancy hooks. I think the official name for them is "frogs." good luck in your search.
