I have a problem with a specific company in my community. They send advertisement newspapers twice a week to everyone in town. I have a small mailbox, and travel extensively on business. I have requested they remove my address, and they replied that legally, they didn't have to.

I don't know about advertising newsletters, but for those businesses that send the self-addressed stamped envelope, just tear anything off that can identify you and send it back to them in their own envelope. Enough of this and they will quit sending out all their garbage. Don't just identify yourself by returning your own mail with your name on it. Strike a blow for all of mankind and make them wonder who is doing it.

Return to sender, This worked for me when I was getting flyers in Spanish(my last name looks Hispanic) I wrote on a flyer, NO hablo espaniol and this is an English speaking household. They have never sent one again.

For the previous answerer It is perfectly legal, even with your name on it, they won't know who to take off their lists if you don't leave your name on it.

Don't move to Colorado...I have never received more spam, snail mail than since I have moved to Colorado. I get more spam in my physical mailbox, than in my email inbox.
