There are several different sealers you can use. At Lowe's, there is a lifetime sealer by Aqua Mix. It will only last a lifetime if you clean it with the correct cleaner. Any cleaner that does not have a neutral Ph will eat away @ your seal. The $10 sealer is a penetrating sealer which could mis color the travertine. What ever you decide to use...do a test spot in an inconspicuous area to see what effect it will have. It is always a good idea to test your seal every 6 months. Drop a couple of drops of water here and there. if they soak in quickly...it time to re-apply. Foot traffic could wear down the seal.

Use a impregnator specifically for travertine. Its pretty much the same as sealer but is more less for sealing the tile not the grout(impregnating the tile itself)
