I'm supposed to be about 8 1/2 weeks, went to the obstetrician for a check and the ultrasound machine could reveal a good sized sack but not the actual baby. I have to have a heap of tests and go back for review in a week but I wasn't really given much information.
Anyone had a similar experience and can offer advice or suggestions? I'm freaking out even though the ob told me not to.

There are a few possibilities...

One is that you happened to ovulate late, so you're not as far along as you "should" be... which could mean the baby is just to small to see, yet.

Or, well, it could be the worst.

I went through this in the spring. For me, it WAS the worst... but while I was waiting for things to resolve, I was absolutely FLOODED with women telling me their similar stories about babies who turned out just fine.

(I no longer have access to that site, or I'd share some with you. But I swear, it was really incredible.)

Hang in there, and try not to panic.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Here's hoping for the best!
