I thought about this a lot after reading "The Man Without A Face." I probably willingly wouldn't choose to be somebody's hero. I'm going to have to disagree slightly here. I think that everyone is someone else's hero, even if they don't know it. That doesn't mean you have to be perfect as a role model. In fact, it's better that you aren't because that would mean that the one you might be mentoring would hold themselves to a 'perfect' standard that they'll never achieve either.

That road can lead to heartache for both hero & the one looking up to them.

Heroes shouldn't & aren't perfect. They're human & heroes are people that teach us how to live, through good times & bad. Right & wrong. Love & hate. Heroes are those that pick themselves up & try again...& that's one of the biggest lessons that they can teach us.

I'd be someone's hero, sure...but I wouldn't really think of it that way; I'd just be doing something for them.

I agree with you. However, my children say I am their hero. It is a lot to live up to.

I would but I won't lie to that person I can tell him/her that hard times are waiting us and it's better to face them together then separate.
