*I tried asking this same question earlier, but I guess everybody else is out Christmas shopping. *

I purchased a $10 gift card from Target for my friend. I feel bad because I had planned on getting her a $25 gift card instead. However, when I looked into my bank account, I realized I didn't have much. I had more bills to pay this pay period. I used the last $10 I had on me. Would you be offended if your friend gave you (from the bottom of his/her heart) a $10 gift card?
thank you for taking the time to answer. Happy Holidays everyone.

You are such a kind hearted individual, but sweetie, don't ever spend your last when it truly is your last. It's about proper budgeting and yes, it's the thought that counts, and a gift is better than no gift, but only your friend, whom you have gotten the gift card for, can answer this question. And not every friend expects or wants a gift, especially if they haven't given you one, it's like a reverse transference. They feel bad because you feel bad because that's all you can afford, except, you got them a gift, and they didn't give you one. So now that person feels bad... sometimes it is better to just give a card of thought and send that love throughout the year through your appreciation for your friend and the friendship you two share. Happy Holidays to You Kind Heart! (smiles)

If they are a real friend no, I wouldn't be offended. But, let me tell you this. You can actually give a nicer gift with the $10 then the gift card. In other words it probably would have been best to get a gift instead of the card. It would mean you took time and effort even if it wasn't for a lot and sometimes you can get really nice things for $10 that don't look $10. Good Luck

let's face it....money is tight these days! I think your friend should be happy with a $10.00 gift card. Sure, it might not sound like ALOT but if you think about it, she can get a cool CD, or DVD for under $10.00....or some makeup, candles, plants, whatever......there are tons of cool stuff at Target for $10

and it's the thought that counts, really. If you friend gets offended, then....that's kind of messed up!

Merrry Christmas to you!

giving is supposed to be about not how much it cost but about caring enough to give, its the thought that counts, add a card explaining how you wish it could of been more and a rain check to take her to dinner or a movie your treat when you are able to afford it.she should under stand if shes a true friend. Merry Christmas.

I wouldn't be offended. I would be happy that my friend had thought of me. I would be just as happy with a Christmas card.

NO. Because It's the meaning that counts. I believe people are taking away from Christmas anyway with big expensive gifts. MERRY CHRISTMAS

The fact that you went to the trouble of getting her something should be enough. I'm usually happy with whatever someone gives me- even if it's just a card.

Not at all! Your friend should be happy you thought of her and bought a gift. The amount is not important.

It's the thought that counts. And if she is a true friend it won't matter if it were 100 bucks or 5 bucks.
