It isn't hard to believe that one of the truly sad legacies of the Viet Nam war is that when this war becomes prolonged and dragged out - the American people will soon let the events of 9/11 fade into oblivion - and the enemy will win the war even if they lose every battle.
Our strength clearly lies in this country remaining The UNITED States.

Naturally, the common people don't want war ... but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

No.
While Americans were navel gazing about O.J. Simpson and such tripe there was a loud din in the world.
America wasn't listening.
"They" (the enemy) have your attention now don't "they".
"
Learn how to nip your enemies in the bud in a 'just' way and "they" won't have to scream to get your attention. (By the word "your" I mean the regular, uninvolved, apathetic American).

Maybe he won't be right after all. I have hope. I support the war.
By the way, those were CNN polls. What else would we expect from CNN?
