I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. There usually is sufficient water vapor in fart.
Here's an even better idea. When it's really cold, get a metal plate and fart onto it. Then you can display the tiny frozen water droplets as distilled intestinal moisture .

NO - the lungs are dumping water vapor, in a gaseous form, your rectum is not involved in a gas "exchange". We did the experiment in college. Lungs win.

Okay actually this is funny.. A couple years ago a friend and I were waiting for our ride when my friend said she needed to fart, so we held our flash light to her toosh and we didn't see anything. So maybe it was muffled in her pants, who knows...
