"The Message" - Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five
It was the first rap/hip-hop song to give a realistic story (not just guys talking about how they party, beat boxes that they do) about life in the inner city (notably the Bronx, where the group grew up.) What makes this even more interesting is how they don't glamorize it to be this beautiful environment, unlike hip-hop artists today that wanna be all "thug" and show a sense of "pride" by the number of bullets they took.
