As soon as I start trying to sew, the machine jams. As far as I can tell, I have the bobbin & top thread threaded correctly. My upper tension is set on 3. I need help. Can anyone think of anything that I can try to fix it?

MAYBE YOUR LOWER TENSION NEEDS ADJUSTING...CHECK THAT YOUR THREAD IS PULLING THROUGH OK AND NOT GETTING SNAGGED ANYWHER...READ YOUR MANUAL ABOUT TENSIONS ADJUSTING..GOOD LUCK...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THREAD THE BOBBIN THE RIGHT WAY TOO

What is jamming? do you have a thread nest on the bottom of your fabric or are you not able to stitch at all? Find the book that came with your machine. Turn the machine off and turn it back on. Unthread your machine completely and re-thread it according to the instructions in the book... put a new needle in your machine. Clean the machine, check you bobbin area for jammed threads, check under your bobbin area for lint. Too much lint will jam things up. The best way to clean a machine is with a vacuum but usually you can get most of the lint out with a brush, one is usually included with the machine. If this doesn't work go thru your book to the troubleshooting section and find the problem which best suits yours. Some machines have automatic tension settings... does yours? There are a lot of things you could check but following thru your owners manual would be the best advice I can think of. If you still have no luck check with a sewing machine dealer or repairman in your area. Good luck!

It sounds as if you do not have your bobbin and/or thread threaded correctly. Do you still have the book of instructions? If so, get it out and read throught the threading instructions. If you don't have the book.........take your machine in to a dealer or your local sewing machine repair. Or.....have a friend or relative who is an adept sewer take a look at it. Good luck.
