The elementary school my kids go to has said they dont want any more cupcakes for Bdays or junk food or soda in the school anymore. If you want to send things in for Bdays or holidays try to make it a non food item. How many pencils can one kid get a year!? What else can you give. Who didnt love bringing in cupcakes for their whole class for their Bdays?! I think it is a little crazy!

No, I'm in high school & we don't have parties or w.e but the school is all into this nutrition stuff now. I think that at a Christmas party in school, a child should be able to eat chocolate galore & all the sweets that they want. It's all part of being a kid! :-D

Well nowadays alot of parents don't moniter their kids sugar intake at home because they are either working late, double shifts, just too busy, carb addicts themselves, or unfortunately too strung out on drugs to even care if they eat. Even if it is a special day, just as long as they have a chance to eat one more serving of whatever is on the nutritious list, it wont hurt. They will probably find something at home with sugar anyway.
