i saw this simbol when i was searching answer from the net....
please help me to find out...is very important to me.

Additinal??? Hmmm don't know that one, but besides the ones already mentioned (wt in lbs, cardinality of a set) it is also used by prime searchers as the product of all primes <= p so for instance 5#=2*3*5 and 23#=2*3*5*7*11*13*17*19*23, etc.

If S is a set with finitely-many elements, sometimes people write #S to indicate the number of elements in this set.

For example, if S = {2,3,5,7}, then #S = 4.

The # is usually used to indicate weight in pounds. It is called the pound sign.
