I'd watch tv and look out the window to see if I could catch a glimpse of fireworks. then go to bed soon after new years hit in my town. I'd probably call people. Maybe get out of the house if possible. Do something to take ur mind off the fact that ur not doing things that everyone thinks u should be doing. Everyone thinks New Years should be spent with ppl. Not neccessarily. It's a cold cruel world. That's why there might be good tv on. If not, read a book. do other non-tv things that you've been meaning to do, but never got around to. Turn on some music while ur at it, and time will fly by in no time.

Do whatever you would do on a night you would spend home to have a nice evening. When I was younger, it was a big deal to "celebrate" the new year. Then as I go older, I thought, celebrate for what? Another year of working, trying to make ends meet and coming up shout more often than not, the world crime getting as bad as it is, paying taxes, etc.....so just try to enjoy a nice quiet evening. What really is the big deal with the date. It changes everyday. So what if it is a new year. So, if you like to read...then read, if you want to watch a movie and have hot chocolate....then do that, if you want to do your nails....do that....whatever is going to make you happy for the evening. Not only that, your much safer these days to stay home....there are way too many drunks out on the roads that night. It's not worth getting hurt or killed. Have a very nice night and be safe.

I am 21 and have never had a kiss on New Year's. If you don't want to turn out like me, go to that party. You might feel awkward, but GO TO THE PARTY. If I could tell my 15 year old self one thing, I would say, "Practice socializing. Accept invitations, even if you feel stupid." You have to practice. You can't just automatically be perfect in social situations. They're called social SKILLS for a reason. Practice them. Go to the party. Either go, or be like me and be alone at 21 with no boyfriend for years, and no New Year's kiss, ever, and hardly any social skills. You are already thinking about alcoholism. How about this? How about you try everything, you work on your appearance, you work on your social skills, and you accept invitations. And then if none of it works for years and you feel like giving up and drinking, then think about it then.

Do something you like to do but don't normally make time to do. Watch a goofy movie that everyone else you know thinks is dumb or read that book or take a bubble bath or make a craft or bake bread. Or you could be really New Years-y and meditate on the past year and the coming year; review your successes and disappointments and look forward to a clean slate. Either way enjoy your own company.

Take a hot relaxing bath, rent a DVD and have an indulgent meal that you love. Get some choclate too. Why not? It's a special occasion. Then spend some quality time reflecting on the year past and your goals for the coming year.

I would get an awesome bottle of champagne along with some deliciously bad for you food.... pizza, Chinese, CARBS. I would then pig out while watching a really awesome movie! In fact that sounds so good I might just ditch the party's and do that myself!! Happy New Year

I just take it easy. I might rent some movies, read a book, and have some snacks. Then I'll watch the ball drop in Times Square.

I would rent some DVDs, order pizza in and then make some popcorn and then ring in the new year. I would try to relax and reflect on the new year and how I can improve things.
