Garcia is way too past his prime to be a starter in the NFL. He's playing well now but it wont last. McNabb will be the starter when he comes back. I think the Eagles will make a trade for a backup if McNabb's recovery is slow (maybe Billy Volek out of SD or even Byron Leftwich?)

There are a bunch of people out there who are capable of taking over for a short period of time, none of which are named Jeff Garcia. He's done after this year

Top Eagles Choices:
1.) Billy Volek- he's rotting on the bench in SD and they may consider getting rid of him
2.) Damon Huard- he's proven he can play in the NFL (11 TDs 1 INT this year) so the Chiefs might look to sell high while his stock is up there
3.) Byron Leftwich- rumor is his years in Jacksonville are done, a very good QB when he has an O-Line to protect him
4.) David Carr- see Byron Leftwich...he's completing almost 70% of his passes this year, the man deserves a shot, otherwise he'll be known as the next Tim Couch (good QB on a bad team)
5.) Aaron Brooks- see Leftwich + Carr...no O-Line still has plenty in the tank and could possibly give up very little to get him.

Of course he'll replace McNabb next season.

Only because McNabb will be out for about half of that season too, however.

I doubt it. Jeff Garcia has been a backup QB for a long time and has failed to earn a long term starting spot on an NFL team. I don't see that changing any time soon.

No, but I would bet Garcia walks next year to a team that needs a solid starting quarterback.

U kidding me? D-Nabb is their franchise qb, just cuz Garcia is playing a few good games doesnt mean he has the job.
