take it with a grain of salt, you could walk out to-morrow and get run over by a bus, worrying won't solve anything, look after your health and the rest will take care of itself..

Well, if nothing else, it should shut up the Right-Wing Christians blaming AIDS on 'G-d'!
Does their G-d also send these sorts of 'plagues' on mega-millions of people, who may or may not have heard the word about "Jay-zuss"!, as well as on "sinners"?
And, before you start, I accept, as a (gay) Christian that He may send 'plagues' on Mankind as part of "The End Times". But who is to say WHICH 'plague' is part of - or the start of - "The End Times"?
The worrying thing should be that 95% of the dead, if the study is right, will be from the 'poor' countries. What can we, as citizens of the 'Developed World', do to stop our fellow-humans dying from it or any disease?
(And, "Fundies", before you condemn me - again - hasn't that always been behind the many medical Christian Missions of the last few hundred years? People need to be alive to 'hear the Message of Salvation'! Christians have worked to bring health so people are able to be preached to. The dead - for some reason - don't respond well to "Hell-fire and Brimstone" preaching!)

It's an example of what the media does best on slow news days: Incite fear into the hearts and minds of the gullible.
The whole things is based on a "study." So what? It's entirely based on speculation and supposition. Besides, when it's time for me to die, it's time for me to die. The best you can do in life is take good care of yourself physically and emotionally, hope that your ancestors had good genes, and make the most of every minute here on earth.

Well, it says that IF a ahrsh flu virus were to break out. Besides, as terrible as something like that would be, think about how good it would be for our over population issues. I have no heart, I know.

As a journalist myself I call that a piece of crappy reportage...
No questioning of the source of this information is the biggest biais that a journalist can make himself responsible of.

The media actually controls us all whether we like to admit it or not and so we have to make it our choice whether we are going to let them influence us or not. Scare tatics is just one of their lows. I don't worry about these things until I need to.

well though I think that we should do everything to prevent diseases, this is a panic/hysteria button, and should not be pushed to mass hysteria, especially since we are all still waiting for the bird flu pandemic,I'll wait till it gets here, then I'll panic
