Well...I figure that...being not alive or being dead has GOT to be more boring than being alive. I mean...what can you do?
Experience I guess is the purpose of living. What can you learn about the word around you to pass on to the next generation?
This is a hard question and you're going to get all sorts of answers, but the purpose for living is different for us all. Some want to promote us to the next stage of evolution. Some people only live for their children. Others only are in it for the pleasures and finer things in life. Still others are here to help us in health and death.
The purpose of living is simply whatever you choose it to be.

Carpe dium, however you spell it, seize the day. Each day can be wonderful and exciting. Life may have its ups and downs, but its a beautiful thing and even if the bad out ways the good at that time in one's life, who knows whats to come. It's the mystery of the future that make life worth living. After all, what is around that corner?

Nothing is written in stone for us to come to these conclusions. It may have been a dramatic experience that caused you to become a firefighter or a missionary for the Church. Life is a doorway to our souls. Only we are able to understand "our purpose of living" if we choose to accept a certain philosophy and have aspirations for involving ourselves outside of our own space.

To get the satisfaction out of why you were born in the first place. To hopefully make other peoples lives happier. Just to make a difference in someone elses life while you are here.

Well, your attitude should be the exact opposite--why not pack as much in as you possibly can if you are going to die anyway? Really, experience life, take some risks, tell someone you are attracted to them, take that road trip, blah, blah, blah...

it's just the cycle of life. only humans, make a big psychological deal out of it. animals just live and, die, the way it is supposed to be. the trick is, to not spend so much time thinking about death, that You forget to live.

well, when you think about it, we are just one of 7 billion. people spend hours of time trying to figure out what the meaning of life is, but there are few people who make an impact on the whole world. i reckon that there is no meaning of life, but we were given a life, and what we do with it is up to us.

i have asked myself that question on many occasions...i have often heard the phrase, "that we start dying the minute we are born"....so go figure...the only thing that i can get from the purpose of life is that it's how we impact other people's lives that substantiates our being
