It depends on how you tolerate pain. For me it was about a four because I got my top and bottom braces on at the same time.
But it is worth it!

Ok, when they put it on there is barely any pain at all, then 0-2 days after they are on your teeth will feel sore and weak, that pain is about a 6 (1 being a slight pinch 10 being a bee sting.. I guess lol) Everytime they tighten your braces you will feel sore teeth so eat alot of jello, pudding, yogurt, mac n cheese, and Smooothies. There is hardly any like scratching or poking at your teeth at all. It isn't so bad just day dream while they put them on. Happy Holidays and don't worry.!!!

I would say about a 7 at the beginning, but afterwards, only a 1 or even a 0.

when i had braces, it hurt pretty bad, so i would say a 9, but it was only because my teeth were REALLY crooked.....if your teeth arent that bad, like if you just have an overbite, it wont hurt that bad.....i had braces since 5th grade until march of this year, and i was so happy to get them off.....i have a beautiful smile now....YAY!! when you get your braces, and it hurts, just think that some day you will be happy that you had them!! lol

good luck and i hope you have a pretty smile!!

i would say the pain was a 3 and it was very worth it. the key to keeping the pain down is to take a aspirin about an hour before you go to the orthodontist that way it will have already kicked in, but be sure to keep taking them regularly for about a day or two. ask him if he can prescribe something for the first couple of days after you get them on.

when i first got them the first week was like a 5 but i had some Advil's and made the pain weaker after that it's like you don't have them

when you get the wires changed i rate a a 6 depends on the thickness of the wire if you get the thickest one it's like a 8 it kills for like 5 days besides that it good

Hey, do you know what someone in the dental industry told me? That often times the wire used for braces is re-used. The denist sterilizes it of course, but it is still reused. Insist on an absolutely new set of wires.

my daughter had them put on when she was 7, she is now 13 and got them off back in March..the initial pain only lasted about 1 week, but that was from having expanders put in..they were uncomfortable for about 2 -3 weeks..after that, she started to get used to them..the only other times that they hurt is when you go for your appt and get new bands put on..she had 2 phases of braces, and the only time like i said that they bothered her, was when she had new bands put on..she said it wasnt really that bad..good luck dear..
