I have two already, they are each an inch tall and neither are agressive towards eachother. People say I can have up to five in there, but I don't want to crowd them. Anyone?

I have a book on Hermit Crabs and it says you can have 10-15 of them in there, medium to small ones. I have 11 in my 10 gallon tank and they are thriving!!

It is best to have at least 3 together but no more than 5 per ten gallons. They do better in groups.

Hermit crabs live in the wild in colonies of 100 or more, and do not thrive in smaller numbers.

I would say no more then four. that gives them room to roan and grow without getting in each others way. and after they grow some ...move up to a 15 gal or more.
hope you enjoy them..they are soo cool.

You better check with the nearest zoning office at the Town Hall.

i would just put up to 3-4 because they will become crowed or unbhappy with too many in there.

Depends on if you want to keep them alive or let them die. That is how many you put in there.
