Maybe
But what would be the cut-off IQ? Most presidents are above average intelligence already.
For example, although most people make fun of Bush, he can laugh back; he's smarter than nearly 91% of us. His IQ is about 120.
He appears stupid because...well, other presidents were smarter. For example, Clinton's IQ is 137 (Why are people talking about Clinton like he's dumb? He was a Rhode scholar and got over 1400 on the old SAT, which is in the top 1%). Al Gore, 130. However, I guarantee half the people making fun of Bush would be doing just as poor a job.
Nixon had the highest IQ out of the more recent presidents (143), and wasn't anything spectacular. I don't think IQ really makes that much of a difference in a president. It's more about personality. A president that is too smart won't be of any use in politics.

IQ test are available for all sitting Presidents, Quote GW Bush #43 made the Lowest IQ test of any sitting president. Bush FATHER #41 was above Bush in IQ 2nd lowest of any sitting President. William Jefferson (Bill) Clinton made the highest score of any sitting President of the United States of America.
That shows you how the IQ Test were , so that shows me that Bill Clinton was the smartest President we have ever had in Office. That also shows me George Bush is the dumbest President we ever had in Office. Just facts that's all. Look it up
in our History.of Presidents IQ. Not bragging just plain facts.

It wouldn't appear that his IQ has changed any so I would rule out that test. I doubt the medication his is on would show up in a drug test so that would just be a waste of taxpayer money. I wouldn't be opposed to having any elected official take drug tests. People in the working world have to put up with it, why shouldn't they? I think you're on to something here.

This might be an ok idea IF intelligence had a consistent connection to being smart. It often doesn't. I have known many people who were college-educated, "book smart" types, but were total idiots otherwise. There have been brilliant people throughout history who never received a formal education. If there was a way to figure out if a potential leader was going to be smart about things - common sense smart - then you might be on to something.

Sara, I know you are not saying anything about our current president, but I want to get this point across and this seems like the place to do it.
President Bush has problems articulating and expressing himself. No one denies that. But the fact is that his SAT scores are way above anything Gore and Kerry did. I'm not asking you to take my word for it. The facts are out there. I'm just pointing out a common misconception.

There should be some sort of test, yes. The one we have would certainly fail basic English... not too good on Geography either... and unfortunately does have less than average intelligence.. but he makes up for that with having influential friends.. Aren't we lucky?

Well the current administrations leader was a "C" student in Harvard so it would be kind of pointless to administer a test now.

IQ only measures what the maker of the test thinks is important, or in other words, and IQ test is absolutely worthless

Won't work because there have been a lot of very smart, high IQ people who weren't very good Presidents.
