of making more efficient means to save time...if all we do is work harder? Shouldn't we use that "saved time" to enjoy life better?

I think we should work hard and enjoy the journey along the way. I.e. spending time with family, taking time to relax every once in a while, etc.

So many people work harder, but not smarter. Time, I believe, is not something that is saved - it is made. It's life priorities... what do we value? What are the mores of the community we live in? Generally these things are echoed in our own homes.

I work in a school (small staff, small enrollment, tiny budget) in what is seen as an underprivileged community. I spend a huge portion of my time doing things to make life better for my students, as do the other staff at our school. We are the community. Luckily, this improves the quality of my life, both emotionally and professionally. But even things that fill us up, well... wear us out. Sometimes I forget what it is that I enjoy outside the scope of 'helping'. I think a lot of people are like me... we don't really know what we need.

I agree. Unfortunately the real value of time has been lost in a material world where only the very rich can enjoy "leisure time" en masse, and they least of all know how to really savour it because they're lost in their own superficial worlds. (Well, most of them - not all of course. Many use their time doing something good for others)

Yes. That's the point of it, isn't it? To save time to improve your life. Same with saving money. If it's horded, it doesn't bring enjoyment to anyone.

Yes that is why our government should give all millions of dollars instead of putting it to a war so we can all enjoy our lives rather then work our butts off to pay them!

By all means, YES we should. Have you ever been around someone who does not know how to relax or enjoy themselves? Sad, really sad.
