Nope, not a thing happens to them.
When you report someone, on Yahoo Answers, for abuse the person's entry is listed as "Below your threshold." Nothing happens to abuser or their account until Yahoo acts upon the report, if they even do so. With the new "threshold" system you will never know if Yahoo has actually done something about the abuser. You will get an automated report that says that Yahoo received the abuse report, but that is meaningless. For example a bot called Man was unleashed on Yahoo this weekend and in one day it reached 7th level. The bot answered every question it could, usually first with an ad for the author's website and blog. We have received notice that Yahoo was informed of this abuse, but we have no idea of what, if anything was done to the author, or even if his account was suspended. Now that Yahoo is no longer publishing the top leader board we can't even check that to see if Man still holds level 7 or not.

Unfortunantly it does not, the best way to deal with spam is to drop to the bottom of the email and click the link that says no longer wish to receive from us. It will not effect others from receiving junk from them. I also recommend anti-spam software usually the service that you have online with especially these days ought to have these features for free for you to use. Spam is a pain, but I have never personally be bothered by it only if it comes over and over again and this is a list or some thing that you signed up for. Be sure to dump tracking cookies as well there is software also for that. I find all of my free software at http://www.freewarefiles.com I hope this answers your questions. John

Nope, but I think future messages from them will be filtered. They can still email, but their emails to you could be put in the spam folder.
