Any attempts to change someone else's behavior is almost always futile. The best advice you can give your friend is that
he/she deserves to be treated with respect and consideration and
when he/she realizes that, making a decision to put ones self first will not be difficult. It does not have to be confrontational or dramatic. Just put your own wellness before that of the others. After all, if the person they "loved" would do that, there would be
no dilemma.

Well this is something i am personally use to in my house. The person will continue to "freeload" unless you set some boundaries and lay some things down. If kicking the person out is not an option, threatening them that they have to leave should put their behind in gear to possibly getting a job. If that does not work then you need to let them go, or else the problem will continue and worse. Hope i helped...Good Luck

Why isn't kicking the person out an option? It might be the only thing that will help them get on track with their life. Allowing them to take advantage of you hurts their self esteem and self confidence and will not help them become better people, in fact they will probably end up resenting you for allowing them to use you that way.

Kicking the person out is the ONLY option, if discussions are not producing any results. That, or buying yourself a nice sign for around your neck that says "I'm a doormat".

the best advice is to tell them that they cant be living off of you any longer. look at the high cost of living. Draw up a living agreement or lease. If matters dont improve go to your local housing affairs and put in a intend to evict letter on that person. good luck

freeloaders deserve a well earned lesson to teach them that not everything in life is free
