Bush said he has not made up his mind about whether to send more troops to Iraq. No timetables or totals have been outlined publicly, but by some accounts roughly 20,000 troops could be added to the 140,000 already there. Maybe talking more about the draft after Christmas.

No, not at this point. The time to add 20,000 soldiers passed within the first year or so of us occupying Iraq. Sending 20,000 soldiers over there now is just a delaying tactic so the President can be indecisive, and wishy washy for a few more months. In the end, he's going to resign, or be forced from office. If he does finish his term, he will leave in disgrace.

Well let's see, since many top US Generals (even before the Iraq war started) said a minimum of 300,000 US troops were needed to secure Iraq I think even if Bush decides to send the added troops he will be about 280,000 short to get the job done.

No.......Not enough troops.
No........ no draft. It makes an inefficient army.
While the forces we are fighting think that they just have to last out a period of time before we eventually pull out, 200.000 wouldn't be enough.
What would make a difference is a unified Policy.
What's the betting though that our politicians allow the increase in troops but fail to agree on a bi-partisan policy.('08)
But don't blame the politicians, or the political system, it's the population that takes no responsibility for it's sad lack of mutual respect and awareness.
