Bringing Up Young Cancer
Most Cancerians are delightful, facinating children whose faces show every changing mood. They love to use their imaginations and are easy to manage and discipline when young, providing they are given a lot of warmth, approval, and attention. Parents should laugh and cry with a Cancerian infant and give constant reassurance when he or she is fearful, which is likely to be often. Cancerian children are usually docile and well-mannered, but prefer to be the leader rather than the follower.
Young Cancer's Needs
Cancerian children are very sensitive to emotional hurts and rejections and must have parental support at these times. If they feel rejected and unloved they will grow up to be reclusive, withdrawing permanently inside their shell in self-protection.
What To Teach Young Cancer
A Cancerian child needs to feel free to express his or her emotions in poetry, painting, story making, music making, acting, or any other form of creativity. Thus, young Cancer should be taught the basic techniques and given the space and materials to enable him or her to express things adequately. The parents of a Cancerian child must find a middle way between too much firmness and too much spoiling. Teaching the young Cancerian to use his or her natural instincts to care for others is a very good way of achieving this. A clear and quick punishment will do no harm when necessary, providing it is balanced with much physical affection at other times. When Cancerian children use their vivid imaginations to exaggerate the truth, they should be taught to distinguish between reality and imagination. They need plenty of outlets for their imagination.

Cancerian Health
Typical Cancerians are calm, docile people able to withstand sickness as long as they have material security, plenty of affection, and are needed by several people. Their greatest problems can arise from worries caused by a lack of these things.
Types of Sickness
Some Cancerians are complainers when they feel not enough affectionate attention is coming their way, yet when an illness slowly creeps up on them, they are remarkably tough and complain less and less. A melancholy or full depression may then be evident. Typical illnesses often arise from the upper digestive tract, especially the stomach. Indigestion, coughs, anemia, and lowered vitality are common. Cancerians may also suffer from eating disorders.
Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac is concerned with:
* receptivity, sensitivity, defense
* home, protection, comfort, domesticity
* food, nurturing instincts
* nostalgia, sentiment, roots, antiques
* money, business, response to public need
* dreams, the psychic, telepathy
* family, history, memory, patriotism
Spiritual Goal
To learn how to take a balanced view of things.
Secret Cancer
Inside anyone who has strong Cancerian influences is a person who was very shy when young and who still tends to use a hard outer shell in defense against what are perceived as hurts from other people. The most vulnerable part of the Cancerian personality is an inner fear of nameless dangers that often reduce a wonderful dream to a pessimistic worry. The fear is becoming lost in the dark of outer space. This indefinable fear of insecurity is often what drives the typical Cancerian personality to invest much time and effort in activities which will enhance a feeling of security and self-preservation.
Ruling Planet and Its Effect
The Moon rules the zodiac sign of Cancer, so anyone whose birthchart has a strong Cancerian influence will absorb and accurately reflect every emotion that is experienced. In astrology, the Moon's cycle of waxing and waning is a metaphor for the cycle of changing moods of the Cancerian personality, who can experience periods of wondrous elation and of crabby depression. The Moon is also associated with oddities and, when in the mood, Cancerian humor can be quite crazy -- almost lunatic. Cancerian humor provides some of the best comedy in the world of entertainment, because it is always based on an accurate observation of human nature.
I hope this has given you some insight to the Cancer child

I don't know much about this stuff, but my son is a cancer, and this fits his description to a T. he is overly attached to me, he is sweet, caring, sensitive, intelligent, beautiful, all he wants to do is make me happy, can't beat that. He gives really big hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wake up in the morning sometimes and he is staring at me, and he says "You are so beautiful in the morning mommy"

Sensitive, insightful, intelligent. They can be crabby when tired or get their feelings hurt, which can happen easily if you aren't careful. My son is a cancer, so is my fiance', they are beautiful people, as deep as the ocean.
