"I know, I know!!!!", the Braille system was invented by Louis Braille.
She overcame being deaf and blind. The whole story about her and Anne Sullivan and spelling out "W-A-T-E-R" in her hand is very famous. She's an inspiration to people; someone that says you can be whoever you want to be, even if you're disabled.

She was blind, deaf and dumb but learned how to communicate after pain staking arduous efforts. Most people would of given up. A lot of it was her teacher who refused to give up on her eventhough she was a wild child. She's an American hero. I think she had something to do with the creation of brail, but I'm not sure about that one.

Calm down. She was deaf, mute, and blind. She was taught to read and read lips (through touching someones mouth). Eventually she learned how to talk, which is pretty uncomon for a person with that set of disabilities. Here's a link to tell you more:

Braille was NOT invented by Helen Keller! It was devised by Louis Braille in 1821, hence the name!

She was deaf, blind, and dumb. She was taught by Ann (e?) Sullivan to communicate, which was fairly remarkable, especially given the time period. She was also a feminist and advocate for human rights.
