first of all, people in jonas' community don't cringe when they see old people naked.
and since everyone is the same and calm in their utopia, they dont have a terroristic obese society like we do.

An advantage would be that for a the most part these people do not live in fear: fear of losing thier jobs, fear of not paying the rent, diseases etc. Even the concept of being "released" while not something that was desired was not understood to be "death." They also have the advantage of not having the inner battles on choosing the right mate, how many children to have, crime. The list goes on and on.

Making others do your homework, eh?
An advantage would be that everyone would know their place in society. Once given your job you knew what was expected of you. You would not have to go through the stress that we would normally go through when choosing a career to do for the rest of our lives.
Another advantage is that you would most likely be happy. His community knows no bad, they're ignorant to the outside world and to the bad things that could/have happened. There would be close to no conflict in their lives.

As we see, there is no war. No fights, brawls. Nobody is poor, nobody has anorexia or bulimia or is obese or underweight. Nobody cares about their looks too much. You have many friends and you will get to see them forever, unless they reapply to some other community. Bias doesn't exist and people with problems are helped. You will not have to suffer heartbreak, but then again you may never experience real love or meet your true soulmate.

I basically examine that e book and puzzled a similar ingredient! on the start, I felt gypped because of the fact i presumed he grew to become into approximately to die and grew to become into having a hallucination. Then i began out thinking approximately how the Giver had given him particular thoughts just to enable his escape (sled, residing house w/kin at Christmas). He made his escape for the period of December, so it suits. additionally, there is supposedly a sequel wherein the main character performs a factor, and that i examine an interview w/the author wherein she states that the main character does in certainty stay. wish that enables--i in my view enjoyed that e book! :)

totalitarianism is supposed to be the opposite chaos [perhaps that is too strong of a word], but its purpose is to assign and organize everything. people know exatcly what to do, when to do it and how. this promotes efficiency, no wasting time trying to figure out what and how to do things.
