I would think there is a confidentiality clause somewhere in a job description or contract of employment that was signed by your supervisor and/or yourself. Check with your HR department as this is a breech of confidentiality.
I would also think that the company would have a Code of Conduct and perhaps a Code of Ethics that would prohibit/not sanction such behaviour on the part of any supervisor or manager.
You may want to contact the Free Legal Clinic in your area to see if they can advise you more appropriately, should legal action be required.

First thing this is against the law for this supervisor to do this, how long has he/she been a boss??
Go to the police station in your area. Before this go to the boss above this person. If nothing gets done do the other, let the higher boss know what you intend on doing. Chain of command.
My Mr. is a boss, not a top boss but he is still not able to disclose personal info about any of the employee's.

A drug screen is before the person becomes an employee.
A drug test is given at the OSHA clinic after an accident.
Either way, that is medical information and private under HIPAA.
Get a lawyer, but expect the private business to be put on the street.

something like that got here approximately on my very prestigious activity. They known because it Gossip and rumors whilst it replaced into genuine. that's mindless and as a pupil in Counseling that replaced right into a 5 way whammy. 1st the sweetness of the surprising loss 2d no longer with the flexibility to grieve the shortcoming of a chum and co-worker third no longer being given time to get better 4th the Supervisors are way too green to steer anybody everywhere they are heartless, ruthless and are automatons in decide on of intense scientific care. they are bordering on Megalomania. those in larger positions would desire to droop the Supervisors and supply an apology to the staff that have been notifying human beings of the the shortcoming of a fellow worker. 5th expert Grief Counselors would desire to be available to assist with the grieving technique. maximum Employers would desire to think returned their coping with of workers and Supervisory group and take a notice out of Google workers handbook. quit being Asinine in direction of their workers that are employed hard work no longer Slaves. each so often employers make the blunders of desirous to maintain a hardline income over the happiness of those they hire. the effect is adverse productiveness, intense turnover costs in employment and sagging earnings.

Drug testing, although in itself deemed legal, may be subject to constitutional challenge if testing results are indiscriminately divulged, if procedures for obtaining personal specimens do not respect the privacy rights of the person, or if testing is unnecessarily or excessively imposed.
Drug tests results fall under the privacy act, but unless proven, probably cannot be persued.

I believe that the OSHA (occupational safety and health administration regulations) guidelines guarantee an employee's right to privacy.
