Ok, Don't freak out, it will be ok. I think we've all been there.
IF the soap doesn't work. Then try this.
Look carefully, you will find between the pull tab and the zipper itself an opening in the side of the mechanism.Right there where the pull tab is held on. Take a small pin and stick it in there and pull out and away from the zipper then down until you've reached the bottom of the zipper run. Then you should be able to separate the two sides.
This is also great if the pull tab comes off and you can't get the zipp down.
If this does'nt work then try to pry open the zipp mechanism and remove it entirely. You can replace it by squeezing it back on with a pair of pliers. If it breaks, no worries, you can get a new one with instructions on how to install it at a local fabric and crafts store. That way you could even spice it up with a different color.

Sometimes you can run a dry bar of soap over the zippers teeth and it will make it slide more easily so you can re align it. Good luck!

you may have to just pull it off over your head and then take it to a dry cleaner that has a seamstress and have a new zipper put in.

sometimes after rubbing it with wax or something unzipping it (one tooth at a time somewhat forecefully but not hard enough to rip it.,to the bottom) will line it back up and then you can zip it right.
