congratulations to you and your hubby!!!! i had a very faint line and was pregnant with my son. but you should take another test in 2-3 days to make sure. that way your hcg levels should be high enough to get a darker line. once again sounds like good news though yea for you.

I don't want to get your hopes up either, but I would say yes! A line is a line and 5 minutes is within the time frame, most tests say not to look at the line after 10 minutes. Test tmrw morning with the first mornings urine so that the HCG is more concentrated, this should make the line a little darker. It is probably so faint b/c your testing early or you are just just pregnant. Good luck and congratulations!!

I think there is a such thing as a false positive . I got pregnant 3 years ago , when i took the EPT pregnancy test, the line was fainted pink also. Then I went to my GYN and he had me take another test. It came out faintly pink again. Not to scare you but I ended up having a miscarriage a couple of weeks later. I Dont know if the light pink color on the test had any indication of something wrong but go see your doctor ASAP just to get a second opinion and to also confirm pregnancy. God Bless.

I also had a very faint line on my pregnancy test that I took though I wouldn't get to excited yet because I ended up having a miscarriage. Me and my husband also tried for a few months and were devastated when if happened. My advise would be to go to your doctors office and have them take a blood test this way they can get the exact number of hormones. Me and my husband tried again and had another miscarriage but the third time was a charm for us and now I have a beautiful 5month old baby boy. Good luck to you and your husband and if something doesn't;t turn out the way you want try try try again and eventually it will happen. P.S. When I took a test for my son it also came out faint on the stick:)

A faint positive is still a postive!! Congrats!! That happend to me also the first time that I took a test with this pregnancy (I am 7 weeks with my 2nd). I took a test a couple of day later so it would be darker and I could take a clear picture of it =D.
Time to make an appointment with the OB! WOOT! I am so happy for you!

Definitely go to peeonastick.com. This woman who made this site is obsessed with hpt's and answers every conceivable quesiton you could possibly have on them.
If I am correct, she says the tests stop being reliable after about 10 minutes, and also that there could be evaporation lines from where the urine dried on the stick. Just check out the website. It will answer a lot of questions.

If it showed up before 10 minutes then i would take it as a positive.
Maybe you should re-test and this time watch the test.
Everytime i ever took a hpt i would watch it like a hawk, nothing could pull me away from seeing the results.
Good luck

You don't say when your last period was...if your right about at missing the first one...then you might (with some tests) have a false negative....that is the more likely outcome of a pregnancy test. False positives are more likely when you don't wait long enough for the full amount of time....which is what you said you did.

i took the same test. the line was so faint i called the hotline to ask them. and they said if a line whatsoever appears...no matter how faint means it detects the preg hormone. so congrats! and 5 mins. would not impact the outcome. they usually tell you to check afer 3 mins anyways.
just to relax my mind i went out and bought the clearblue digital. maybe you should do the same =D

Double check your instructions, but generally you are told not to trust the result after 10 minutes. Since you checked at 5, most likely you are pregnant. Congrats.
