OM-GOSH,, I wish I had the answer for you,, My husband and grown children have been begging me for year's to PLEASE quit smoking .. I just can't put the nasty killers down.. I don't know why.. I did quit several years ago , I used the patch, didn't miss a beat on them, and, they really did work , went thought the 6- 8 week process, and didn't smoke for a little over a year.. Then something happened and I bought one pack of cigarettes, took one out threw the rest of the whole pack in the garbage,, Just smoke the one that day ,, But that was it.. The next day or 2 I was right back on them.. I have recently bought another box of the patches, But just haven't decided to stop yet.. I hope soon... I felt 100 % better , just weeks after quiting before.. Sounds crazy, but this is a very true story, and I know I'm not alone. But it sure don't help how I feel, know that either .. Great Question

I know I'm not that old to be giving u advice but i think u should sit your wife down and tell her how u feel. u cant control her life u can only add to it. I think if your wife loves u enough she would stop smoking if its hurting you.

I don't think it's a good idea to tell someone to stop smoking. Maybe you could tell her why you would like her to stop smoking. She would probably take your feelings into consideration better than if you were telling her what to do. You can only hope that she respects her own body enough to stop.

I can tell you how not to tell her to quit smoking:

I have a friend who would really like me to quit smoking. I am trying, but it is hard. One thing he did was steal all my cigarettes and lighters one day--that really made me mad. I am not a child, dont treat me like one. He refused to come over if I had been smoking. His loss.

I understand his concern, I respect his boundaries and do not smoke around him, in his house, or around his kids.

Quitting something, or making a change in your life has to come from within.

Do offer:
Praise at every little attemp to quit, or cut back. Do offer praise when her breath tastes good. Do kiss her repeatedly when she hasnt smoked.

Good luck, and happy holidays!

tell them how upset it makes you to see them treating their body in such a way. Then tell them if they are going to smoke, do it when you are away, or to at leash brush their teeth and wash their hands before intamacy. Realy, what more can you ask of them? They are an adult that can make their own decisions, and just because you wine about their habits, doesn't mean it isn't incredably difficult to stop, as it is an ADDICTION. Supporting them is the best thing you can do, with words of encouragment.

there are many stop smoking items on the market today. some of them actually work. ask the pharmacist which one works best. my mom stopped smoking, your wife can do it too. when she does stop smoking reward her with a trip. i vote for a hike, to show her what her lungs can now do. good luck.

You don't do you want her to tell you what to do and nag you, well don't do that to her . Pray for her and tell her how you feel thats all you can do and drop it.Was she smoking before yo got married? If it's yes why do you have a problem with it now.

Try explaining to her that you don't want her to smoke because of her health and tell her you love her alot you don't want her to get sick later on, also mention to her that she is not only hurting herself but you and her kids with the air that is contaminated
