When i was little going to disney world, i remember the street names, but i don't remember any of Disney World! not even the rides! or when you meet new people, you remember that they had a mole on the side of their face, but you can't remember their name. Why?

because we can't defrag our memories..it's random..and not necessarily important.. i'm 48 and rember our phone number from 4th grade...and still remember my best friends number from high school...and the color of my driver's ed teacher/volleyball coaches eyes..dreamy LOL

Everything has different degrees of importance to everyone, either subconscious or conscious. Maybe at that time you were just learning to read, and the fact that you could read them made you feel important. That's why it is so scary being a parent..you never know what part of their life will end up being the most poignant!

I remember my sisters doing mean things to me, but I don't remember if I did any mean things to them. It's all selective.
